People love tennis, but they also want to get in better shape quickly. Cardio Tennis accomplishes this by condensing a two-hour-long, grueling tennis match into 60 fun-minutes of tennis exercise.
WHAT IS CARDIO TENNIS?
Cardio Tennis is a new, fun, group activity for all ages, ability and fitness levels, featuring drills to give players an ultimate, high-energy workout. It is a one-hour workout which includes a warm-up, cardio workout, and cool down phases all performed to upbeat, high-energy music.
Let’s be real—a tennis match can be very static if the rallies don’t last very long. You exchange shots back and forth 3 or 4 times, then stop, pick up the balls, then bounce to serve again, etc. There can be much more standing around time than actual movement unless you are at a level where rallies last a lot longer. Not much fun or enjoyment. That’s why many players are turning to Cardio Tennis classes to improve their fitness level and have more fun on the court as well. Let’s look at some other reasons why Cardio Tennis is sweeping the globe:
Lose Weight, Get Fit
Participants consistently elevate their heart rates into their aerobic training zone. You can burn more calories than singles or doubles tennis. You get short cycles of high-intensity workout and periods of rest, almost like interval training. While you are “playing” tennis, the primary focus is on getting a great workout. It is the best way to train for tennis.
Fun, Healthy, & Social Tennis
Cardio Tennis is an excellent way to get into a more active lifestyle, meet new people, AND improve your TENNIS!
Burn More Calories
In only 1 class, men can burn between 500 and 1000 calories and women can burn between 300 and 500 calories. Plus, it beats the monotony of a treadmill! The use of Cardio balls (decompressed 10 & under tennis balls) makes playing the sport easier because the ball moves slower. Using transition balls makes it difficult for good players to hit a clean winner, therefore the ball stays in play longer which means more “cardio”.
Cardio Tennis is a high energy fitness activity that combines the best features of the sport of tennis with cardiovascular exercise, delivering the ultimate full body, calorie burning, aerobic workout.
